Aprim Gorges
Greetings and salutations, my name is Dr. Aprim Gorges. I graduated Logan College of Chiropractic in April 2020 which was the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. My journey through school had a strong focus on biomechanics and how the parts and systems of the body are connected. Humans who stand upright in gravity and walk are a bio-mechanical marvel. If you think about it, we have these big bodies that perform amazing feats of balance, strength, endurance and agility; all on a pair of tiny ankles and feet. Even if we are just looking at a humble walking gate, it will always contain a single-leg stance.
Many of us may take this for granted but the single-leg stance is one of those small feats that your body does for you every day which largely goes unappreciated until you are without it. Motion is life. When you lose motion, coordination, balance etc, the body declines and disease forms. Pond scum doesn’t live in a moving stream; it thrives in stagnant waters. My practice has a focus on restoring and maintaining normal movement patterns. This includes breathing patterns which not only improves your health by increasing oxygen levels but is also the primary method of pumping the waste products out of the body through the lymphatic system.

Dr. Candace Gorges DC. MS.
Hello, my name is Dr Candace Gorges. I graduated from Logan Chiropractic College in 2016 with a Doctor of Chiropractic, Masters of Sports medicine, Acupuncture certification and Loomis Digestive Specialist Certification (basic). I went on to complete my Loomis Digestive Specialist Certification (Intermediate) in 2018 and plan on attending the advance training soon. From a young age I knew that this was what I wanted to do. For many years I watched my father’s patients walk in hunched over in pain and occasionally in tears but leave standing straight with a smile on their face! Chiropractors I knew had such a different way of looking at the body and I was fascinated by that. Eventually I started asking my dad if Chiropractic could help things like heartburn, kidney disease and other internal issues since I had friends and relatives with some of these issues and figured that if I struggled with anything internal later in life, I wanted an alternative to medication and/or surgery. He answered with a resounding “YES” but advised me that not many Chiropractors focus on those things because it is too time consuming, insurance won’t pay for it, OR it’s too hard to build that kind of practice because the population doesn’t seek chiropractors for those kinds of problems. These answers did not sway my interests. My journey through grad school had a strong focus on internal health and longevity. I wanted to become the kind of doctor that I wished I had access to.
Through my years in grad-school I came to find out just how vast and comprehensive the practice of chiropractic really is. There is not just one, but hundreds of different techniques and specializations in just about anything you can think of. I hope that I can serve as an example for more chiropractors to start embracing this fascinating but less common side of our profession. Our bodies are amazing and instead of focusing on the process of breakdown in the body, I prefer to focus on the process of repair. How can we repair better, stronger and more efficiently. I find that most patients don’t think that they can achieve health because of genetics, poor lifestyle habits that they refuse to change, or they have given up altogether and adopted an attitude of defeat stating that, “it’s just old age”. I don’t believe that. There are many people around the world who live to a healthy old age with minimal pain and all their teeth! So why not you? Or, the better question may be: What are they doing that you are not? Chiropractic as well as some eastern healthcare systems such as Acupuncture, view the body’s natural state as healthy. In other words, your body is MEANT to be Healthy. That is your natural state! So, what is standing in your way? It is my job to help you figure that out and give you tools to change it. There is one simple premise that every basic biology student knows: structure equals function. If you correct the structure, then you will have normal function. There are many ways to do that, and the structures can get complex, but it really is that simple.
